The National Institutes of Health and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced a $200 million initiative Grand Challenges in Global Health. The Grand Challenges in Global Health initiative selected 14 scientific and technological challenges, the solution of which could lead to important advances against diseases of the developing world.
